Shooting Diaries

We managed to stick to our shooting shedule, with the exception of a few shots which required different times and locations, such as the sun time lapse, and the road time lapse. Due to the time and certain other factors needed for a good time lapse we had to do the filming outside of college time. We discussed who would be best in the best position to help film the required shots. I contributed by helping George pick the location for the road time laps, and then filming it as this was one of the last shots that we needed.

One problem that we encountered was some mis-coloured footage due to the 'Inside' setting being on. The symbol of a light bulb that represents the inside setting looks very similar to the symbol of the sun that represents the outside setting. So, as a soloution to this problem we used the colour corrector tool in Final Cut Pro which enabled us to changed the levels of certain colours, restoring the footage as close to original as possible.

Another problem that we came across whilst log and capturing was that some footage was unusable as it showed half of some footage, and half of some different footage mixed together in stripes of footage. We were not sure what caused this problem but realised it was unchangable. So, to solve this problem we selected the shots from the footage that we knew we were going to use and re-filmed them or similar shots that could be used in place. Luckily this happened to our test footage which we largly discarded as it was only us practising with our ideas.
